Tanvir Tanim is a Senior Staff Scientist/Engineer and Group Lead in the Energy Storage Technology Group at Idaho National Laboratory, with experience in battery research and development since November 2015. Previously, Tanvir held positions as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Penn State University, where focus areas included commercial lithium-ion battery performance modeling and safety testing. Additional experience includes a mechanical engineering summer co-op at The Raymond Corporation, developing electrochemical models for lithium-ion batteries, and a research assistant role at Ohio University studying solid oxide fuel cell systems. Tanvir holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, an MSc from Ohio University, and a BS from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
