Diffraction And Imaging Group Lead at Idaho National Laboratory

William Chuirazzi has a diverse work experience in various scientific and engineering roles. William started their career at AVI Foodsystems as a Janitor and Parts Salvager. William also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in Dr. Nandini Trivedi's Group, where they conducted theoretical research on cold matter physics. Later, they joined Marathon Petroleum Company as an Inspection Co-op. At The Ohio State University Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, they worked as a Graduate Fellow, focusing on developing radiation detectors. William then moved onto Idaho National Laboratory, where they held multiple roles including Graduate Fellow, Russell Heath Distinguished Postdoctoral Associate, and Instrument Scientist. In these positions, they gained experience in X-ray diffraction, imaging, and computed tomography on nuclear materials. Currently, they are the Diffraction and Imaging Group Lead at Idaho National Laboratory, where they coordinate and facilitates the work of the X-ray and neutron diffraction and imaging scientists.

William Chuirazzi started their education journey at Lakeview High School, where they earned their High School Diploma in 2010. William then attended The Ohio State University from 2010 to 2014, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Physics. William pursued further education in the same institution from 2015 to 2017, completing a Masters Degree in Nuclear Engineering. Continuing their academic pursuits, William completed their education at The Ohio State University in 2020 with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Nuclear Engineering.
