Battelle National Biodefense Institute, LLC (BNBI) manages and operates the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC) as a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The NBACC mission is to provide the scientific basis for characterization of biological threats and bioforensic analysis to support attribution of their planned or actual use. BNBI Corporate Governance - The Battelle National Biodefense Institute, LLC is a non-profit, single-purpose (i.e., focused solely on the DHS FFRDC contract), company with a Board of Directors and Company Officers - President, Treasurer and Secretary. National Biological Threat Characterization Center (NBTCC) mission is to establish the scientific basis for the threat posed by traditional, emerging, enhanced and advanced biological agents and life science-related technologies to support and inform Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE) biodefense preparedness, response and recovery decisions.
