Denise Johnson, PMP, has a strong background in health research, analytics, and project management. Denise currently serves as the Vice President of Health Research and Analytics at Battelle. Prior to this, they held the role of Chief Member at Chief.

Denise has extensive experience at ICF International, where they worked for seven years. During their tenure, they held various progressive roles, including Vice President and Senior Director of Health Systems Strengthening. In this position, they were responsible for strategic planning, portfolio-level growth, employee engagement, client satisfaction, financial stewardship, and technical delivery. Denise led project teams of up to 180 professionals located globally and excelled in attracting, developing, and retaining talent. Denise also served as the Project Director for the Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance (IDDS) project, a USAID-funded initiative worth $120 million. Denise successfully established and led a consortium of eight organizations to build laboratory capacity in Africa and Asia, develop disease surveillance systems, and respond to emergencies such as COVID-19 and Ebola. Additionally, Denise served as a Leadership Team and Architectural Review Board Member for the Open Health Information Exchange (OHIE) while at ICF International.

Prior to their work at ICF International, Denise worked at ICF and Macro International in various senior technical and program management roles. Denise also gained experience as a Project Coordinator at Georgetown University, Center for Latin American Studies, where they were responsible for managing the Political Database of the Americas.

Through their diverse range of experiences, Denise has demonstrated their expertise in leading complex projects, fostering partnerships, and driving organizational growth in the field of health research and analytics.

Denise Johnson, PMP, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Independent Major from Vassar College, obtained in 1990. Denise also earned a Master's Degree in South Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994, and a Master's Degree in Systems and Information Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2005. In addition, Denise Johnson holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
