Zack Smotherman

Zack joined Battery in 2013 as a vice president and was promoted to partner in 2020. He focuses on later-stage, buyout investments in industrial technology. Zack is currently involved with a number of Battery’s acquisitive industrial technology platforms, including Audio Precision/GRAS, Physical Property Testing (PPT), Process Sensing Technologies (PST), Noise & Vibration Technologies (NVT), SPT Labtech and Qognify; as well as a growth investment in Robotiq.

Prior to Battery, Zack was an associate at WestView Capital Partners, where he evaluated and executed middle-market buyout and recapitalization transactions across the tech-enabled services and software sectors. Zack began his career in the investment banking group at Avondale Partners.

Zack graduated from Tufts University with a BS in economics. He also holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
