Katja Haugsted Madsen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Katja currently works at Bavarian Nordic, where they hold two roles. Katja is the Manager of the IT Service Desk and the IT Process & Project Manager. Prior to their current position, they worked at Seaplace Consulting as a Senior Consultant and Founder. Earlier in their career, they spent a significant amount of time at Novo Nordisk in various service management and project management roles. Katja was a Service Manager for livestreaming, virtual collaboration, and mobile devices. Additionally, they served as a System Manager for the IT Project Portfolio Management System and worked as an IT Governance & Project Portfolio Manager and Business Analyst. Katja'sresponsibilities included organizational change management, optimizing work processes, and developing communication plans. Prior to their work at Novo Nordisk, they gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Copenhagen. Additionally, they held a clerk position at KL and worked as a Communication Responsible at the Royal Danish Embassy in Luanda.

Katja Haugsted Madsen has a diverse education history. Katja began their education at Nykøbing Falster Katedralskole from 1983 to 1986, where they studied on the Matematisk Naturfaglig linie. Later, they attended the University of Copenhagen from 1989 to 1997, where they obtained a Master's degree in Science with a focus on Biology.

In 2014 and 2015, Katja furthered their education at Probana Business School, where they completed a Master Class in Communication consisting of six modules on MBA level.

Alongside their formal education, they have earned several certifications. In 2005, they obtained the ITIL Foundation Level Ed. 2 - IT Service Management certification from ISEB. In 2019, they became a certified Change Practitioner in Prosci Change Management (ADKAR). In 2020, they earned the PRINCE2® Foundation Certification in Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice and the ITIL Foundation Ed. 4 - IT Service Management certification, also from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Most recently, in 2021, they obtained the PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation & Practitioner certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
