Łukasz Szymaszek

Associate Director, Global Marketing at Bavarian Nordic

Łukasz Szymaszek's work experience begins in 2011, when they worked as a Research Assistant at the Embassy of Denmark in Poland. In 2013, they joined Philips as a Jr. Key Account Manager as part of their Talent Development Program. In 2014, they moved on to GSK, where they worked as a Brand Manager for their Future Leaders Programme, focusing on vaccine brands such as Nimenrix, Varilrix, and Synflorix. Łukasz later became a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and a Product Manager for Bexsero. In 2016, they took on the role of HIV Portfolio Product Manager, responsible for brand management and marketing strategies of Triumeq and Tivicay. In 2017, they became the 2DR Launch Lead at GSK. In 2018, Łukasz joined the Polish Investment and Trade Agency as the Head of the Copenhagen Trade Office. Finally, in 2020, they joined Bavarian Nordic, where they have held various positions such as Global Brand Manager, Global Marketing Manager, and currently serves as a Brand Lead/Senior Global Marketing Manager.

Łukasz Szymaszek's education history begins in 2007 when they enrolled in the University of Warsaw to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. Łukasz completed their undergraduate studies in 2010.

In 2009, Łukasz participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program at the University of Amsterdam, where they focused on International Relations.

After obtaining their Bachelor's degree, they went on to pursue a Master of Arts in International Security and Strategic Studies at the University of Warsaw. Łukasz completed this program in 2012.

Following their Master's degree, Łukasz began their doctoral studies at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. Łukasz is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics.

In 2018, Łukasz attended the Copenhagen Business School for a brief period to study the Internationalization of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ISUP). In 2020, they attended Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, focusing on Market access for pharmaceutical products - trends and challenges.

Additionally, Łukasz has obtained several certifications. In 2020, they received the Monkeypox - Introduction certification from the World Health Organization. Łukasz also obtained the Rabies Educator Certificate and the Rabies Healthcare Certificate from the Global Alliance for Rabies Control in the same year.
