Urmi Cholera has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Urmi started their career at KPMG as a Senior Tax Associate from 2005 to 2008. Urmi then worked as a Senior Tax Analyst at Tishman Construction from 2008 to 2009. In 2009, they joined the Mental Health Association of NYC as a Research Assistant Intern, assisting with research on veterans' mental health issues.
In 2010, Urmi worked at the IKP Centre for Technologies in Public Health as a Global Health Research Intern. Their responsibilities included researching and strategizing the implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) in a rural village setting, developing protocols for incorporating public health risk factors into EHR, and designing clinical decision support systems for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
From 2011 to 2019, they worked at PwC as a Manager in the Advisory Healthcare Practice, specializing in healthcare management. In 2019, they joined Emergent BioSolutions as a Senior Project Manager, overseeing various projects until 2020. Urmi then took on the role of Director, Development & Commercial Project Management from 2020 to 2023.
Urmi's most recent position is as Senior Director of Project Management at Bavarian Nordic since 2023. Overall, they have demonstrated their expertise in project management, healthcare management, and research in the healthcare industry.
Urmi Cholera completed their education at various prestigious institutions. In 1999, they enrolled at the Texas McCombs School of Business and obtained both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Accounting in 2005. In 2001, they attended the Summer School at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Afterwards, they pursued further education at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, where they earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in Policy & Management from 2009 to 2010.
