Laura Hill

Policy Director, Transportation & Public Safety at Bay Area Council

Laura is a Policy Director with the Bay Area Council, where she works to advance the transportation goals and initiatives of the Council to enhance the reliability, safety, equity, and overall quality of transportation systems throughout the Bay Area. She also covers a range of public safety issues. Laura previously worked for Los Angeles City Councilmember Joe Buscaino as the Senior Legislative and Transportation Deputy, where she focused on expanding transportation options and safety for the City’s most vulnerable transit riders. She additionally worked for the South Park Business Improvement District (BID) in Downtown Los Angeles where she led the BID to receive the highest award from the International Downtown Association for advancements in community outreach and public space activation. Prior to her position with the BID, Laura worked for three years expanding student body civic engagement at the University of Southern California. Laura graduated with a degree in International Relations and Spanish from Bradley University where she received the Nyaradi Award for Outstanding Scholarship, Dedicated Public Service and Professional Excellence as well as best-in-class for her senior thesis.
