Bay Area Legal Aid
Genevieve Richardson currently serves as the Executive Director of Bay Area Legal Aid, overseeing the largest non-profit anti-poverty social justice civil legal services organization in the San Francisco Bay Area with a $26 million budget, seven regional offices, and a staff of 160 employees. Prior roles at BayLegal include Managing Attorney for the Contra Costa, Marin, and Napa Regional Office, where management of multiple civil legal practice areas and staff supervision were key responsibilities, and Director of Pro Bono Activities, where Genevieve developed a regional pro bono program to enhance access to civil justice for low-income families. Genevieve has experience as a Domestic Violence Prevention Family Law Attorney with a focus on representation and policy in Contra Costa County. Additional contributions include serving on the Board of Directors for the Legal Aid Association of California and consulting for the Florida State Bar Foundation. Genevieve holds a Law Degree from the University of Colorado and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Colorado Boulder.
