Sacha Maniar is an experienced attorney currently serving as the Economic Justice Disability Attorney at Bay Area Legal Aid since August 2021. Prior experience includes a role as a Student Attorney at MAIN STREET LEGAL SERVICES INC, where Sacha collaborated on immigration legal strategies and provided support to immigrant rights organizations. Sacha also interned at TakeRoot Justice, focusing on asylum and T-visas, and at The Legal Aid Society, advocating for clients impacted by sex work criminalization. In earlier positions, Sacha coordinated civil rights advocacy for Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Asian Law Caucus, served as a Community Health and Justice Coordinator with the Peace Corps, and engaged in sustainable practices with As You Sow and the UCSD Student Sustainability Collective. Education includes a Juris Doctor from the City University of New York School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in International/Global Studies from UC San Diego.
