Matthew Swart

Matthew Swart is an experienced horticulturist currently working at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park since February 2017, overseeing the Amphitheater, Volunteer Tribute, and Central Gardens. Prior to this role, Matthew served as a Warehouse Team Lead at Bay Logistics and held positions as Greenhouse Staff and Customer Service representative at Creekside Garden Center, where responsibilities included plant maintenance and customer landscape design. Additionally, Matthew completed a horticulture internship at Frederik Meijer Gardens, focusing on native tree development and invasive species management. Earlier experience includes roles as Plant Caretaker at Countryside Greenhouses and Cook at Old Chicago Restaurants. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management with a minor in Biology from Grand Valley State University between 2011 and 2015.
