Jeff van Sant

Jeff Van Sant is a seasoned political reporter currently working at Bay News 9 since December 2022. Prior to this role, Jeff served as an investigative reporter for The E.W. Scripps Company from 2019 to 2021 and as a news reporter at KPHO - A Meredith Corporation from 2015 to 2018, covering significant events such as wildfires and mass shootings. Experience also includes being a multimedia journalist at Tribune Company from 2011 to 2015, where Jeff first reported on the Barefoot Bandit, and a reporter at Hearst Television, where a notable story on the first recorded death from H1N1 was broken. Earlier career stages involved reporting for KRTV, where a national news story was uncovered regarding Ester Reed, and an internship at CBS News. Jeff earned a degree in Communications with a focus on news, political science, and history from Seton Hall University. An Emmy Award winner, Jeff has also received multiple nominations for journalistic work.
