Rachel Boyte

Rachel Boyte is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Legal Counsel at Bay of Plenty Regional Council since July 2020. Prior to this role, Rachel held the position of Associate at Cooney Lees Morgan from September 2013 to July 2020 and worked as a Solicitor at Russell McVeagh from November 2011 to September 2013, focusing on resource management. Rachel's earlier experience includes serving as an Environmental Advisor at TrustPower, where involvement included project management of resource consent processes and policy planning for hydro and wind assets. Rachel began a career in education as an Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) from July 2006 to July 2008. Academically, Rachel holds an LLB/BA in Law and Public Policy from Victoria University of Wellington and is currently pursuing an LLM in Environmental Law at The University of Auckland.
