David Fleming

David Fleming, PhD, serves as the Lead Research Data Scientist at Bayer, focusing on predictive modeling for crop performance in global breeding projects. With significant experience in data science roles, David leads teams to develop advanced Bayesian experimental design models and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance breeding and commercial applications. Prior to Bayer, David held the position of NASA Earth and Space Science Fellow at the University of Washington, where contributions included developing an open-source Python package for Bayesian inference and analyzing stellar evolution. David holds a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Washington, where notable research and teaching accomplishments were achieved. Educational credentials also include an MS in Astronomy from the University of Washington and a BS in Physics from the University of Notre Dame.
