Gilbert Besong

Gilbert Besong is an accomplished molecular designer and lab leader with extensive experience in the agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently serving as a Molecular Designer I Science Fellow at Bayer AG's Crop Science Division since December 2015, Gilbert has previously held leadership roles at BASF from March 2011 to November 2015 and as a Senior Research Associate at Astex Pharmaceuticals from March 2006 to March 2011. Earlier in the career, Gilbert worked as a research fellow at the University of Leeds and as a research associate at Istituto Neurologico Mediterraneo. Gilbert holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Leeds and a Laurea in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutics from Università degli Studi di Perugia.
