John Koelink

COO, Consumer Health at Bayer

John Koelink is the current COO of Consumer Health at Bayer. Prior to this, they served as Senior Vice President Global Supply Chain Management at Bayer HealthCare from September 2008 to July 2013. There, they were responsible for the end to end supply chain for the 4 healthcare divisions: Animal Health, Consumer Care, Pharmaceutical and Medical Care. John led a team of 1500 SCM professionals that supported an inventory reduction of 20% in 3 years, increased service levels, consolidated warehouses and successfully launched a number of products, including Xarelto, Eylea, Seresto, and Asperin migraine.

Before joining Bayer, Koelink served as Executive Director Supply Chain Management at Organon from September 2000 to August 2008. There, they were responsible for the entire supply chain and was able to reduce inventories by 25% and increase service level by 10% in the first 3 years. John restructured planning concepts and by 2003 80% of Organon's portfolio was steered based on Vendor Managed Inventory basis. In 2007, the forecast accuracy for the top 30 countries was above 85% 3 months out.

Koelink began their career as a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers from January 1996 to December 2000. John then became Customer Service Desk manager at Hoechst from January 1993 to December 1996.

John Koelink's educational career includes completing an international executive MBA, with a thesis on tax efficient supply chain management, from IBO Qualified Business School.

They are on a team with Arturo Sanchez - President, Latin America, Consumer Health & Executive Board Member, Abbie Lennox - Chief Regulatory, Medical, Safety & Compliance Officer (RMSC) & Executive Board Member, and Lance Yuen - Head of Consumer Health, China & APAC. John Koelink reports to Heiko Schipper, President, Consumer Health.
