Kai Kuempers

Kai Kuempers is a seasoned engineering and technology leader with extensive experience in the chemical industry. Currently serving as the Head of Site Engineering & Technology at Bayer Crop Science since December 2007, Kai is responsible for overseeing the engineering and technology operations of a major Crop Science Active Ingredient site, which includes four production plants and significant logistical infrastructure worth approximately 400 million €. Notably, Kai is also managing the expansion of the site through the construction of a new production plant with a capital investment exceeding 150 million €. Prior to this role, Kai held various managerial positions at LANXESS and Bayer, specializing in plant engineering, project management, and operational excellence across multiple active ingredient sites in both India and the USA. Kai Kuempers earned a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Verfahrenstechnik und Maschinenbau from Leibniz Universität Hannover between 1984 and 1990.
