Machine Learning Engineer

Marc Osterland is an experienced Machine Learning Engineer at Bayer since April 2020, focused on accelerating drug discovery through the rapid prototyping of data science and AI applications, as well as designing cloud-based machine learning platforms. Prior roles include Research Scientist at Bayer, where Marc developed data-driven object detection solutions, and Research Assistant & PhD Student at Zuse Institute Berlin, specializing in deep learning for cancer cell classification. Earlier experience encompasses positions at Bayer HealthCare, the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, Charité, neofonie GmbH, and the Max Delbrück Center, contributing to various projects in bioinformatics and clinical research. Marc holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Freie Universität Berlin, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field.
