Mark Davey is currently a Group Lead in Applied Genetics and Program Lead for Fertility Restoration at BASF, where they focus on gene discovery and engineering to enhance hybrid wheat research and development. With five years of experience in research and development for a multinational company, Mark has a strong background in biochemistry, biotechnology, and genetics, alongside cross-functional management expertise. Previously, they managed a research lab at KU Leuven, overseeing molecular breeding and biotechnology projects while establishing various international collaborations. Mark is currently pursuing a PhD at Ghent University and holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Swansea University.
