Stella Salvo

Head of Breeding Partnerships for Smallholder Farming

Stella Salvo is the Head of Breeding Partnerships for Smallholder Farming at Bayer Crop Science, where they collaboratively bring technologies to enhance agricultural productivity sustainably for farmers worldwide. With over 20 years of experience in field breeding wheat and maize, they have led discovery projects in mapping and genomics in maize and soybean, as well as initiatives supporting capacity building in Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, Stella worked at USDA-ARS as a Biological Science Technician and held various roles at Monsanto and Bayer focusing on development, deployment, and breeding partnerships. Stella is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Colorado State University, a Bachelor’s degree at Purdue University, and a PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
