Timothy Rydel is an accomplished scientist and educator with extensive experience in protein crystallography and mathematics. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist - Science Fellow at Bayer Crop Science since August 2018, Rydel focuses on structural biology for insect control and herbicide tolerance applications. In addition, Rydel serves as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, teaching various college mathematics courses since August 2015. Prior to these roles, Rydel was the Crystallography Lead at Monsanto Company, overseeing protein crystallography research from April 1998 to August 2018. Rydel holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Michigan State University, complemented by a strong educational foundation in chemistry from the University of Chicago and Michigan State University.
