Torben Heise is currently a Lab Leader in Disease Control at Bayer, where they focus on innovative solutions for targeting infectious diseases. Previously, they were a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University, working on glycodendrimers as part of a program funded by GSK aimed at combating neglected diseases. Torben earned their PhD in chemical glycobiology from Radboud University, where their research centered on keto-saccharide mimetics of sialic acid and their roles in infections and immune regulation. They hold a Master of Science in Molecular Life Science from Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen.
