Xi Gu

Xi Gu is a seasoned bioinformatics professional currently serving as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Bayer Crop Science since October 2019. Previously, Xi worked at Monsanto Company as a Bioinformatics Scientist, contributing to the development of software for allergenicity risk assessment and supporting agricultural product regulation. Experience includes a tenure as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Georgia, focusing on local de novo assembly pipelines and Next Generation Sequencing data. Xi also interned as a Data Scientist at DuPont Pioneer, enhancing Bayesian algorithm efficiency through GPU computing. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate of Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics and Statistics, respectively, from the University of Georgia, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Beijing Normal University.
