Yvette Steyn

Yvette Steyn is a Principal Quantitative Geneticist at Bayer Crop Science, where they focus on genomic predictions and strategic breeding objectives, with plans to shift their focus to Canola/OSR in 2025. Yvette earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Pretoria in South Africa before pursuing a PhD at the University of Georgia. Their career began as a Geneticist at SA Stud Book, where they contributed to genetic evaluations for various livestock breeds and served as a part-time lecturer. Throughout their professional journey, Yvette has authored over 20 publications and actively engaged in mentorship and collaboration within the scientific community.
