Alexander Kalb has a strong background in research and analysis in the field of economics. Alexander started their career as an intern at the ifo Institute in 2004. Alexander then worked as a research assistant at the University of Konstanz before joining ZEW – Leibniz-Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung as a researcher in corporate taxation and public finance. In 2011, they became a senior researcher at ZEW before transitioning to a role as an assistant vice president at BayernLB, specializing in country risk and sector analysis. Alexander was later promoted to vice president at BayernLB.
Alexander Kalb completed their undergraduate education at the University of Konstanz from 2000 to 2006, earning a Diplom in Volkswirtschaftslehre. Alexander then pursued further studies at Heidelberg University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Dr. rer. pol. degree, also in Volkswirtschaftslehre. In addition, they conducted a research visit at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in 2003 as a PhD student in Economics. During this time, they also spent a year studying Economics at Lund University in 2003.
