Markus Hofer

Markus Hofer is an experienced financial professional currently serving as the Head of Quantitative Analytics in Financial Markets at Bayerische Landesbank since February 2019. In this role, Markus manages a team focused on advanced analytics for trading and sales, as well as the development and maintenance of an in-house derivatives pricing and risk management application. Previously, Markus worked as a Quantitative Analyst at both Bayerische Landesbank and ING, where key responsibilities included XVA modeling, quantitative analysis for derivatives trading, and project management. Early career experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD student at Graz University of Technology, alongside positions as an actuary and a quantitative analyst intern. Markus holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and a Master's degree in Financial and Insurance Mathematics from Technische Universität Graz.
