Christina Schmitt

Christina Schmitt is an experienced journalist currently serving as a Reporterin, Autorin, and CvD at Bayerischer Rundfunk since June 2022, focusing on the editorial teams for Bayern Aktuell and Oberbayern, with a role in the ARD-Studio in Athens and as the author of the podcast "Die Polizeiklasse." Prior to this, Christina worked as a Korrespondentin at Bayerischer Rundfunk from September 2015 to April 2022, covering regions including Altötting, Rottal-Inn, and Mühldorf am Inn, while also contributing as a trimediale reporter. Christina's early career involved roles as a Reporterin and Autorin, producing content for various platforms including the ARD-Mediathek and contributing to documentaries and news segments across multiple broadcasts. Christina holds a Master of Arts in Arabistik and Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeographie der MENA-Region from Leipzig University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geschichte and Islamwissenschaft from The University of Freiburg, with additional studies at Ain Shams University.
