Alexander Mertz

Alexander Mertz serves as the Sprecher der Geschäftsführung at BayernInvest since August 2019. Previously, Mertz held several significant positions at BlackRock from October 2008 to June 2019, including Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Germany, Austria, and Eastern Europe. Additionally, Mertz was a member of the Management Board at BlackRock Asset Management Deutschland AG, where responsibilities included roles as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to BlackRock, Mertz worked as Head of ETF and Index Portfolio Management at Deka Investment and held several key roles at Union Investment. Mertz holds a Diplom-Kaufmann in Betriebswirtschaftslehre from the University of Mannheim.
