Axel Haslam

Linux Kernel & Android Expert at BayLibre

Axel Haslam has a diverse work experience in various companies. Axel started their career at Gas Manager as a Platform Engineer, where they integrated a veriphone terminal into the Gas Manager system by creating an application to connect with a SQL database. Axel then moved to Texas Instruments as an Embedded Android/Linux Kernel Engineer, working on debugging platform power management issues and handling kernel migrations. Axel also served as an Embedded BSP Engineer, providing support to TI's customers and handling service requests.

After that, Axel worked at Intel Corporation as a Linux Integration Engineer, optimizing and troubleshooting connectivity drivers and framework. Axel was responsible for integrating connectivity solutions into Intel platforms, debugging power management issues, and optimizing power and performance of connectivity use cases.

Following their time at Intel, Axel joined FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a Linux Multimedia Engineer. Axel worked on a GENIVI based project, developing communication protocols for Apple and Android devices, and improving existing components such as CD, USB, and Bluetooth.

Currently, Axel is employed at BayLibre as a Linux Kernel & Android Expert. Axel works as a Linux driver developer on various SOC's and architectures, specializing in embedded Linux Drivers and Power Management. Their tasks include the initial bring-up of audio codec on Linux kernel up to Android HAL.

Axel Haslam attended Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics and Systems Engineering.
