Howard Goldberg

Howard Goldberg serves as the Chief Medical Information Officer and Vice President of Clinical Informatics at Baystate Health since January 2017, while also holding the position of Associate Professor of Medicine at UMass Medical School—Baystate since March 2018. Previously, Goldberg was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School from March 2014 to March 2018 and a Senior Corporate Manager for Enterprise Clinical Informatics Services at Partners HealthCare from 2005 until January 2017. Expertise includes the design and development of enterprise clinical services, focusing on run-time terminology services, clinical decision support, clinical documentation, and interoperability. Goldberg also contributed as the US Representative to the Content Committee for IHTSDO from 2008 to 2014, assisting in the development of Snomed CT. Prior roles include Vice President of Product Development at Clinician Support Technology and Senior Associate at the Center for Clinical Computing at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Educational background includes an MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a BA in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University.
