Martin Spanier

Martin Spanier has over 20 years of experience in risk management and risk controlling. Martin started their career at HVB as a Counterparty Risk Controller, where they introduced new systems and processes for risk modeling. Martin then moved to Syneco Trading GmbH, where they served as the Head of Risk Controlling and contributed to building the company's risk management practices. After leaving Syneco, Martin joined Bad Bank as an Advisor before joining BayWa AG. At BayWa, they held the roles of Senior Risk Controller, Head of Risk Controlling - Agrar Group, and Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Their responsibilities at BayWa included defining risk management standards, executing risk analysis, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and building risk teams. Overall, Martin has a strong background in risk management and has worked in various industries, including energy trading and agriculture.

Martin Spanier completed the CFA Program levels I-III at CFA Institute between 2002 and 2004. Martin also earned a Master of Statistics degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 1991 to 1997.
