Veda Balan

Veda Balan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They started their career as an Analyst at Citicorp Overseas Software Ltd in 2001. Over the years, they grew within the company and took on roles such as Project Leader, Team Lead, and eventually became a Senior Member Technical Staff. This tenure lasted until 2005 when the company merged with Polaris Software Labs LTD.

After that, Veda joined Vendio Services, Inc. as a Senior Member Technical Staff, and later became a Team Lead. They guided the team in developing, maintaining, and enhancing e-commerce products using JavaScript, J2EE, and DB technologies. Their time at Vendio Services, Inc. lasted until 2010.

In 2010, Veda had two separate work experiences. They worked as a Software Engineer at Juniper Networks from June to October, and concurrently, they joined VERISIGN as a Staff Engineer. At VERISIGN, they played a crucial role in operating the infrastructure for internet-facing networks globally. They held this position until January 2015.

Next, Veda joined [24]7.ai in 2015 and held multiple roles during their tenure. They started as a Senior Principal Member of Technical Staff for ILABS - Product Engg, focusing on mobile-centric and channel-agnostic customer interactions. Subsequently, they became an Architect, contributing to the design and development of the [24]7 Chat product. Finally, they took on the role of Sr. Architect, responsible for security, application design, and data migration to the Google Cloud. Their work at [24]7.ai concluded in June 2023.

Currently, Veda is working as a Principal Engineer at Bazaarvoice, a position they started in July 2023.

Veda Balan completed their primary and high school education at Rose Mary Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India. Veda attended the school from 1985 to 1997. Later, they pursued higher education at the College of Engineering, Guindy, from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
