Janko Calic is a seasoned engineer and academic with extensive experience in multimedia technology and communications. Currently serving as the Lead Research and Development Engineer at BBC since August 2015, Janko has held various roles within the organization, including Senior Research Engineer and R&D Project Engineer. Concurrently, Janko has been involved at the University of Surrey since August 2007 as a Visiting Senior Lecturer and Deputy Director, focusing on user aspects of multimedia technology within the Digital World Research Centre. Previous roles include Research Assistant at the University of Bristol, where Janko contributed to the ICBR project on managing large-scale broadcasting video content, and Visiting Lecturer at City University London. Janko's academic foundation includes a PhD in Electronic Engineering from Queen Mary University of London, complemented by a Postdoc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol and degrees in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering from the University of Belgrade and Univerzitet u Novom Sadu, respectively.
