Megan Stamper is an experienced data science professional, currently serving as the Head of Data Science at BBC since November 2019, where Megan leads a diverse team in the Datalab, focusing on audience personalization and recommendation products. Prior to this role, Megan was a Principal Data Scientist at BBC, collaborating across various stakeholder groups. Before joining BBC, Megan worked as a Senior Data Scientist at the Financial Times, delivering advanced statistical modeling and machine learning solutions, and developed a topic recommendation system for the myFT product. Earlier experience includes a Software Engineering Internship at Electronic Arts and several roles in education and corporate finance. Megan holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Glasgow.
