Derek Hyde is a Senior Medical Physicist at BC Cancer Agency since September 2010, focusing on image-guidance and high precision techniques, including the commissioning of Varian Truebeam units. In addition, Derek serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan, teaching in MSc and PhD programs in medical physics in collaboration with the BC Cancer Agency. Prior experience includes positions as a Medical Physicist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where involvement included leading the first spine stereotactic ablative radiotherapy program in Canada, and as a Medical Physics Resident at London Health Sciences Centre, where research on arteriovenous malformations was conducted. Derek holds a PhD in Medical Biophysics from Western University, an MSc in Medical Physics, and a Bachelor's Degree in Medical and Health Physics, both from McMaster University.
