Dr. Zia Poonja

Dr. Zia Poonja serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer at Healthspan since September 2021, while also co-founding PrehabRx in September 2022. As a Medical Oncologist at BC Cancer since 2013, Dr. Poonja specializes in breast cancer, lung cancer, and head and neck cancers. Additionally, Dr. Poonja has been a Strategic Advisor at Ecopest Inc. since June 2006 and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta from 2010 to 2013. Academic achievements include earning a Medical Oncology Fellowship from The University of British Columbia (2013-2015) and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Saskatchewan (2006-2010), where a Bachelor of Science in Physiology was also obtained.
