Robert McCormack

Head Physician at BC Lions Football

Robert McCormack is an accomplished medical professional with significant experience in sports medicine. Currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer for both the Canadian Football League since March 2020 and the Canadian Premier League since January 2021, McCormack also holds a long-standing position as a Professor at the UBC Department of Orthopaedics since 1988. In addition to these roles, McCormack has been the Head Physician for the BC Lions Football Club and the National Curling Team of Curling Canada, and the Head Physician for the Canadian National Softball Team since August 2004. Furthermore, McCormack contributed to the Pan Am Medical Commission from July 2016 to January 2025. As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, McCormack has served both Trinity Western University until April 2023 and Simon Fraser University from 1990 to April 2023, showcasing a dedication to both academic and athletic endeavors. McCormack earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Queen's University between 1973 and 1979.
