Bala Kathiresan

Bala Kathiresan currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of BCNET, a not-for-profit organization that provides technology services to enhance research and education throughout British Columbia. In addition to this role, Bala holds several board positions, including Board Member and Chair of the National Research and Education Networks Governing Council at CANARIE Inc., and Steering Committee Member for the Administrative Services Collaborative within the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. With a strong background in healthcare leadership, Bala has held significant roles such as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Niagara Health System, where oversight included a variety of clinical and operational services. Educational qualifications include governance training from the Rotman School of Management and an MBA from Bharathidasan Institute of Management, complemented by health leadership credentials.
