Head Of Data Access And Readiness at BC Platforms

Outi Törnwall, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in the biobanking and healthcare data industry. Outi began their career in 2002 as a DNA Coordinator and Research Assistant at the Institute of Health and Welfare. In 2009, they became a PhD student at the University of Helsinki. In 2013, they were a Doctoral Fellow at the University of Helsinki's Institute for Molecular Medicine, FIMM, Finland, working on the EU funded project Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI) - Large Prospective Cohorts (LPC). In 2015, they became the EU Project Manager at BBMRI-ERIC and completed the Diploma in Service Excellence (eMBA). In 2018, they joined BC Platforms as the Data Partnerships Director and Head of Data Access and Readiness, leading a team responsible for data access and readiness for data discovery and Real World Evidence studies.

Outi Törnwall began their educational journey at the University of Helsinki in 2000, where they earned an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry in 2006. Outi then pursued a Vocational Management degree from 2007 to 2009. Finally, in 2009, they returned to the University of Helsinki to obtain their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sensory Science and Genetics, which they completed in 2013.
