Alex Hargrave has a diverse work experience. Alex started their career at Aurora Manufacturing as a Laborer/Welder, where they rebuilt military fuel trucks and cabs, and also performed welding and fabrication work on overhead crane systems. Alex then served in the Army Special Forces (Airborne) as a Support Mechanic, where they were responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of machines and performed maintenance, fabrication, and battlefield repairs for combat vehicles. After leaving the military, Alex worked at R and M Motors as an Agricultural Mechanic for two years.
In 2014, Alex joined Magnum Power Products as a Research and Development Technician, where they were involved in the mechanical and electrical assembly of prototype products and worked with engineers to improve the build process and design. Alex then moved to Wilson-Hurd, A Division of Nelson-Miller, as a Manufacturing Engineer, where they coordinated projects for Point of Purchase opportunities, provided support for production lines and processes, and developed new technical capabilities for manufacturing.
At Hargrave Design, which they started in 2012 and continues to run, Alex serves as the Owner, Designer, and Carpenter. Alex is involved in mechanical and structural design, custom furniture construction, and the installation, finishing, and repair of wooden and metal structures and fixtures in residential and commercial buildings. Alex is also experienced in forming, pouring, and finishing concrete flatwork, as well as stained and colored decorative concrete stamping.
Most recently, Alex joined BCI Burke Company, LLC as a Manufacturing Engineer in December 2018, where they are currently employed.
Alex Hargrave has a diverse education history. From 2005 to 2008, they attended Military Mechanic Schools and the US Army Wheeled Mechanic School. In 2014, they obtained an Industrial Metallurgy Certificate from Fox Valley Technical College. Alex continued their education at the same college, completing a Mechanical CAD Drafting program from 2015 to 2016. From 2015 to 2017, they pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Production Engineering, and from 2017 to 2019, they earned another Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, both from Fox Valley Technical College. In January 2017, they obtained the CSWA certification from Dassault Systèmes, and they also have an Industrially Metallurgy certification from Fox Valley Technical College.
