Lorie Hunchak

Director, People Development at BCI

Lorie Hunchak has extensive experience in human resources and organizational development. Lorie began their career as the Director of Human Resources for the BC Government Ministries of Advanced Education, Education, and Labour from 1993 to 1997. From 1997 to 2012, they served as the President of IH and Associates Consulting Ltd., where they provided consulting services and solutions to organizations worldwide. Lorie then worked as the Communications Lead for the VI Region at BC HRMA from 2009 to 2012.

In 2011, they joined the Provincial Health Services Authority as the Manager of Organization Development, overseeing leadership and development initiatives and providing coaching and support. Lorie went on to work as the Manager of Human Resource Operations at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 2014 to 2015, where they focused on employee relations, recruitment, and retention.

Currently, Lorie is the Director of People Development at BCI, a position they have held since 2015. In this role, they provide strategic direction and oversees training and development programs, change management, and HR business partner relationships. Throughout their career, Lorie has built a strong reputation for creating positive work environments and delivering high-quality results.

Lorie Hunchak received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from the University of Alberta, where they studied from 1974 to 1978.
