Michael graduated with summa cum laude honors with an M.B.A. from the University of South Florida, where he also earned his B.S. in chemical engineering. He joined BCR after college as an intern before transitioning between several business functions including Engineering Manager, R&D Manager, Director of Technology, and most recently, Product Manager (Advanced Oxidation). He has been involved in multiple facets of the business including engineering, research, finance, sales and corporate strategy. Michael has optimized new and existing products and process controls, performed market segmentation and financial analyses, managed BCR’s IP portfolio, and developed new technologies. He is co-author of two patents and was responsible for optimizing a chlorine dioxide generation process to reduce chemical use in wastewater treatment by 25%. Under his guidance, BCR was the first company to earn two U.S. Environmental Protection Agency national equivalencies (Process to Significantly Reduce Pathogens and Process to Further Reduce Pathogens). In his engineering role, he implemented structured design of experiments (DOE), such as Taguchi Engineering, in an array of BCR’s technologies – a systematic, holistic approach that has resulted in significant savings, a decrease in process variation and an increase in product and process robustness. In his current role as Product Manager, he is responsible for setting the strategy and direction for sales, marketing, operations, and R&D. Outside of work, Michael is an avid golfer; he played on the University of South Florida’s golf team as a walk-on. He also raised a Seeing Eye golden retriever for one year, giving the dog up to be a blind man’s long-term companion.
