Michele Schmittel is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in audit management and international services. Currently serving as the International Liaison Principal and Global Statutory Audit Practice Leader at BDO USA since July 2017, Michele also leads the International Services desks for Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Prior roles include Senior Audit Manager at Hozik & Co and Manager of Financial Planning at BayCare Health System, where budget management and external audit oversight were key responsibilities. Michele's career began with significant roles at renowned firms such as KPMG Audit, E&Y, and Arthur Andersen, where expertise in auditing, financial governance, and compliance was developed. Holding a BS in Accounting and Spanish from Butler University, Michele balances professional commitments while raising two children at Château Schmittel.
