Thomas Leonardo

Thomas Leonardo is a highly experienced tax professional with a comprehensive background in state and local tax matters and legal practice. Currently serving as Principal and Managing Director at BDO USA since October 2012, Thomas specializes in multistate tax due diligence and restructuring consulting in M&A transactions. Prior experience includes roles as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP focusing on private equity and venture capital taxation, and Counsel at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue's Litigation Bureau. Thomas began their career as a Captain at Cape Air and holds advanced degrees in Taxation (LL.M.) from Boston University School of Law, a JD from Suffolk University Law School, and a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
