Ziggy Maes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ziggy started their career as a Jobstudent/Summer Job at thyssenkrupp in 2011. Ziggy later worked as a Sales Consultant at De Videonauten, a startup specializing in professional B2B video productions. In 2012, Ziggy became a Representative (ReMo) at Mozilla, where they provided product support, community management, event management, and public relations for Firefox and Thunderbird software.

Ziggy then took on the role of Founder at IntraGreen, a start-up venture focused on analyzing traffic light patterns to encourage ecological driving and maximize fuel savings. Ziggy also worked as a Business Developer at SoleWay, a Software as a Service company that offers indoor navigation solutions.

In 2016, Ziggy joined Virtual United Social Club as the Chief Technology Officer. In this role, they created and maintained IT policies, led software development, facilitated IT needs of other departments, and conducted security audits. Ziggy also briefly served as the ACARS Development Manager at the same company.

Moving on, Ziggy worked as a DevOps Engineer at Be-Mobile, where they focused on automation and process optimization using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Kafka, Ceph, and Prometheus. Ziggy later became the Technical Integration Manager during the merger between Be-Mobile and Mediamobile, leading the consolidation and integration of technologies.

Overall, Ziggy Maes has gained extensive experience in engineering management, technical integration, DevOps, sales consulting, community management, and start-up ventures.

Ziggy Maes has a Bachelor's Degree in New Media and Communication Technology (NMCT) from Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen - Vlaamse Autonome Hogeschool, which they obtained from 2014 to 2017. During the same period, they also pursued Bryo StandUp + StartUp program at Voka, Flanders' Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2013, Ziggy attended Visitatie Mariakerke High School, where they studied Economics and Computer Science. Additionally, Ziggy has obtained certifications as a Mozilla Rep Alumni from Mozilla in February 2020, and as a Second Language Teaching Assistant specializing in Chinese economy and IT from Zhejiang University in April 2015.
