Chris currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Be The Match BioTherapies, where they have successfully transformed the company into a leading vendor in the cell and gene therapy marketplace. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the Co-Founder of Nora Therapeutics, Inc. from 2008 to 2016. During their time at Nora Therapeutics, they played a critical role in securing substantial venture financing, managing operations, and developing strategic partnerships. Before Nora Therapeutics, Chris co-founded and served as the President and CEO of Nora, LLC, focusing on infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Chris also has experience in strategic business management at Corvis, where they contributed to market analyses and revenue generation strategies. Chris began their career in management consulting, specializing in telecommunications at Putnam, Hayes, & Bartlett. Chris also held positions in strategic planning at Pacific Bell / SBC. Additionally, Chris has a background in economics as an Analyst at LECG. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong ability to lead teams, manage finances, negotiate contracts, and drive business growth.
Chris McClain has a diverse education history. In 1984, they enrolled in the University of California, Berkeley, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History. Chris completed their undergraduate studies in 1988. After a few years, they returned to the University of California, Berkeley to attend the Haas School of Business, where they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from 1993 to 1995.
In 1996, Chris McClain participated in the Kellogg Graduate School of Management Executive Programs, focusing on Pricing Strategies and Tactics. Afterwards, they pursued a Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership in 1997.
Before their higher education, Chris attended Emerson Elementary School in San Francisco. Additionally, more recently, in 2018, they engaged in Speaking Opportunities to further enhance their communication skills.
