Byron Down possesses extensive experience in project controls and estimating, currently serving as Lead Project Controls at Beach Energy Ltd since March 2019, with previous roles including Principal Project Controls - Estimating and Senior Consultant at Turner & Townsend, where Byron was seconded to BHP on significant asset-level projects. Expertise includes cost estimation, change management, and project budgeting, demonstrated in roles at AECOM Australia Pty Ltd and Gavin Construction, as well as experience in tender preparation and business development. Byron is well-versed in first principle estimating and has consistently contributed to the successful management and delivery of numerous multi-million dollar projects across various sectors in Australia. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management and Economics from Curtin University and a Certificate 3 in Furnishing/Cabinetmaking from Marlston TAFE.
