Michael Nixon, Esq. has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Michael currently holds the position of Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Beacon Health System, where they lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve diversity and inclusion within the organization. Prior to this, they served as Vice President for University Culture and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer at Andrews University, where they provided leadership for equity and diversity programs. Additionally, Michael has served as a Seed Investor for COMMUNITYx, a social impact tech startup, and as a Legal Coordinator and Attorney at the Fair Housing Justice Center. Michael also worked as a Law Clerk at Ed Fox & Associates and held various roles at The John Marshall Fair Housing Legal Clinic, State Representative Ann Williams Office, The John Marshall Law School, and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago).

Michael Nixon, Esq. has a diverse education history. Michael started their education journey in 2005 at the Universidad Adventista de las Antillas, where they attended and studied history. In the following year, from 2006 to 2007, they studied Pre-Law Studies at Oakwood University. Michael then pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Political Science from Andrews University, completing their studies from 2007 to 2009.

In 2010, Michael embarked on their legal education at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where they obtained their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2013. Later on, they pursued further education at the University of Kentucky, where they obtained a PhD in Studies in Higher Education, specializing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from 2021 to 2025.

Additionally, Michael holds two certifications. In 2014, they obtained the New York State Bar certification from the New York State Bar Association. Furthermore, in 2022, they completed the Senior Diversity Officer Leadership Graduate Certificate program at the University of Kentucky.
