James Porter has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. James is currently working as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Beacon MedTech Solutions since August 2022. Prior to this, they held positions at Westfall Technik Inc., where they served as the Director of Business Development from May 2022 to August 2022 and as the East Regional Sales Manager from January 2021 to May 2022.
Before that, James worked at Asahi Intecc USA, Inc. for many years, starting as the East Area Regional Sales Manager for the Medical Components Group from July 2015 to June 2019, and then being promoted to Senior Sales Manager East Territory for the Components Group and OEM division from July 2019 to January 2021. James was responsible for managing all sales and after-sales activities on the East coast, including Eastern Canada and Puerto Rico.
Prior to their time at Asahi Intecc, James worked at Hocoma Inc. as the Service and Quality Manager from November 2013 to July 2015. In this role, they managed all after-sales activities for North America and was responsible for developing best-known practices and improving customer service.
Additionally, James worked as the Global Customer Service Manager at Danaher Corporation - Sonix from February 2012 to April 2013. James was in charge of managing global customer service and after-sales operations, as well as preparing P&L forecasts for management review.
Furthermore, James served as the Worldwide Customer Support Manager at JPSA Laser from February 2010 to February 2012, and as the Director of Technical and Customer Support at BlueShift Technologies from March 2008 to November 2009, before the company was acquired by Brooks Automation.
James began their career at CAMECA in 1998, where they held the position of Global Product Support Manager for the Semiconductor Division. James managed after-sales support for various equipment and coordinated engineers across different locations. James also had P&L responsibility for global manufacturing support.
Lastly, James worked as a Lead Technician at Praxair in 1997 and served in the Technical Operations Division of the United States Air Force as an NDC&A Gas Separations and Measurements 9S100 from 1994 to 1997.
James Porter began their education in 1991 at the State University of New York - System, where they focused on studying Biology until 1994. James then pursued further education at the Community College of the Air Force from 1994 to 1997, specializing in Applied Science. In 2003, James enrolled at the University of Phoenix and successfully completed a double major in Management and Marketing, earning a BSBM degree in 2005. Currently, James is attending the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, where they are expected to graduate in 2023 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
